When I say that every detail of Karolina and Richie’s wedding was stunning, I literally mean every…little…detail — the jewelry, the dress, the floral, the venues, the amazing reception decor…and of course, not to mention, the gorgeous bride and groom. I have to say, this is going to turn out to be a pretty lengthy write-up, but there were so many wonderful details and moments from the day that we can’t let any of them go unmentioned! Lets get started, shall we?

We started our day at one of downtown Chicago’s most iconic hotels, The Palmer House.  Once we made it up to the bridal suite and got settled in, we got right to work on one of the most important parts of the day — the details!  We realize how much time and effort most brides dedicate to their details, so these are things we never overlook, no matter how big or small.

Wedding days can tend to be pretty hectic, so we always make it a point to cover the details as one of the first things when we arrive in the morning.  This ensures that we don’t miss anything, such as the hair pieces, shoes, and everything else the bride plans on wearing for the day.

Always thinking ahead to the couple’s wedding album that we will be creating for them, I try to keep as much visual consistency throughout the detail photos as possible.  By doing so, the final album spreads have a natural order and flow to them.  The Palmer House, keeping it classy, has a beautiful white leather sofa that offered the perfect match for Karolina’s details.

Badgley Mischka makes a beautiful line of wedding shoes…great choice, Karolina.  🙂

And back to the room, safe and sound, ready for the soon-to-be Mrs. Drzewicki!

As I mentioned before, EVERY little detail of Karolina’s big day was beautiful…even down to the clasps on the back of her dress.  No detail on her wedding day was going to go unnoticed.

Richie sent Karolina a little love in a surprise card…

…along with an awesome surprise gift!

These little flower girls were just absolutely adorable…   🙂

Your day will come, too, little one…

And off we go!  Ceremony time!!

Karolina and Richie’s wedding was held at St. Mary’s of the Angels church in Chicago…yet another beautiful location on their itinerary for the day.

The final prep before Karolina’s big moment…

We did it!!!  Whoohooooo!!!

After shooting a few of Karolina and Richie at St. Mary’s of the Angels, we hopped in their limo-bus and made our way downtown to a few iconic Chicago locations.  Our first stop was the Board of Trade.  When I suggested the Board of Trade as one of our possible locations for the big day, it just so turns out that Richie is big into architecture, so this spot was already #1 on his list.  Cheers to that!

Weddings are all about celebration!  Its important not to forget that.  While formals photos are a staple to every wedding, its important not to forget why we’re here.  That being said, I always try to keep things light and fun, especially with the groups.   🙂

Karolina’s bridal bouquet was STUNNING!

For our next stop along the way, we couldn’t help but make our way back to the original location of the day, The Palmer House.  With so many little nooks and crannies to work with in this beautiful hotel, we knew we had to spend a little bit of time there.  Just like before, these staircases just aren’t something you can avoid.  Beautiful architecture and a beautiful couple…you just can’t go wrong.

Once we wrapped things up at The Palmer House, it was time to head to the reception, which was being held at Belvedere of Elk Grove Village.  Based on how the rest of the day had gone so far, I was more than anxious to see what Karolina and Richie had in store.  Low and behold, it was more breath-taking than I could have imagined.

Check out the spread of sweet treats!!  I’ll tell ya…it was extremely difficult resisting temptation and waiting until I’d had my dinner…   😉

I honestly could have shot with Karolina and Richie for another three days straight.  When I saw this lovely set of furniture they had sitting in the reception room, I couldn’t help but snag her away for a few more.

Let the fun begin!!

Party time!!!

As a surprise to the guests and wedding party, Richie decided to hire a set of professional break dancers to liven up the part.  These guys were AWESOME!  I think we’ve all seen some of this stuff on movies and TV, but seeing it in person was super cool.  Definitely some incredibly talented individuals!

Another HUGE thanks to Karolina and Richie for allowing me to be a part of your big day!  You two are one of the sweetest couples we have the opportunity to work with and we wish you nothing but the best for years and years to come!
