Iberostar Grand, Montego Bay, Jamaica – Destination Wedding – Kayla and Mark
Jamaica seems to be one of the more popular options for destinations weddings in the past few years, as this has been one of my more frequented locations as a destination wedding photographer. And to be honest, it’s really no surprise to why. Perfect weather, beautiful beaches, the friendliest people, some of the best food, and all around good vibes. From Ocho Rios, to Montego Bay, I’ve simply never had a bad experience in Jamaica. The Iberostar Grand of Montego Bay was no exception. This place was immaculate, top to bottom. I can’t thank Kayla and Mark enough for bringing me along to photograph their big day on the islands, and to such a beautiful resort, to boot! Lets get this party started, shall we?!
Talk about island vibes…no stress here on Kayla’s big day! Nothing but sunshine and smiles.
These barefoot sandals were the perfect choice for Kayla’s destination beach wedding! Beautifully elegant and comfortable with toes in the sand.
A destination beach wedding in Jamaica wouldn’t be complete without the shades. Stylin’ choice, Mark. 😉
Mark found the best groomsmen gift ever — personalized/customized bobbleheads! Pretty incredible how accurate they came out! If you couldn’t tell, Mark’s brother is a dentist. 😉
The crew patiently waiting their entrance down the beach.
Could this dude be any happier? Love this. To say he was excited to see his bride would be an understatement.
The walk with father and daughter down the isle is one of my favorite moments of the day. I imagine this is a very proud, yet bittersweet moment in every father’s life, giving away his daughter to another man. Needless to say, Kayla’s father was thrilled for the two of them, and couldn’t be happier to hand Kayla over to Mark.
Beach wedding ceremonies are one of my favorites. Such a beautiful backdrop…so simple, calm and serene.
Proud moment for Mark’s momma, too. 🙂
Ayyy….those shades again!! 😎
And the “party supply” guy on the boat! Haha…classic.
Looks like the ladies are up to somethin’ sneaky… 🙄
Baahaha, got em!
Sunlight was fading quick, so after the sneak attack, we were off to the shoreline to snag a few of Mark and Kayla! Per the usual, we had a BEAUTIFUL Jamaican sunset to work with. Some say that here in Montego Bay, they have the best sunsets…but we’ll let you be the judge. 🙂
Here’s a little behind the scenes for all you photographers out there. Pretty simple on this one — Canon 600EX-RT in a Photek Softlighter. Thanks again for holding the light, Mark!
Iberostar Grand of Montego Bay is a gorgeous resort. We had to take advantage of their beautifully landscaped grounds with a stroll through the courtyard.
Knowing their ceremony was a bit later in the day, I spent some time scouting the resort the day before, looking for a few spots we’d be able to shoot once the sun went down.
One of the banks of rooms at the Iberostar is looped around in a big oval shape, with an empty courtyard in between. With all the windows that overlooked into the courtyard, we were able to get some really cool vantage points shooting between the floors. Big shout-out to Canon’s 600EX-RTs wireless triggers for transmitting through all of this!
PAR-TAY TIME!!
Kayla’s bridesmaids (and bridesman) planned a choreographed dance and wedding “rap” for the two of them. Absolutely hilarious. Well played, well played.
After the main events leading up to dinner, I love sneaking away with the bride and groom for a few moments to hit a few more spots around the resort. The Iberostar Grand had quite a bit to work with, so Kayla and Mark were all for it!
And the rest is history! Huge thanks to Kayla and Mark, as well as all of your friends and family, for making me feel so welcomed. I had a blast celebrating with all of you! Let’s do it again real soon, ay? 🙂
