Cara and Aric — married!!
At last, the time has come. Cara and Aric’s big day!
After shooting their engagement session for them about a year prior to the wedding, I knew that Cara and Aric were going to be an amazing couple to work with. These two are nothing short of amazing. Couples with such a strong bond, such as Cara and Aric, always turn out to be naturals in front of the camera. They focus less on the camera, and more on each other, allowing their moments to flow completely naturally from one frame to the next. Couples with bonds like these are what us photographers live for.
Cara and Aric started their day in a beautiful suite at Radisson Hotel in Merrillville and had some gorgeous details to work with.
Their ceremony was to be held at Our Lady of Sorrows, of Valparaiso.
Aric and I had a little time to get him loosened up before the big moment.
On-location shooting is typically my favorite part of the day. It gives the couple an opportunity to share some much needed alone time together, away from the chaos of a typical wedding day. These moments together, coupled with some pre-planned destinations, make for some of your most cherished wedding day photos.
After our shoot on location, we cruised on over to their reception, which was held at County Line Orchard, of Hobart, Indiana. That’s where we found these fellas so thoughtfully testing out the ladies umbrellas.
Cara and Aric definitely knocked it out of the park with their reception decor. Everywhere we turned, there was another intricate project that Cara had personalized. Awesome, awesome job.
Every fairytale has a happy ending. What could be sweeter than a gorgeous sunset on the fields of apple trees? We got even luckier and had this awesome little puddle to help “sweeten” the deal!

“There are so many great things to be said about Matt. Not only is he just an awesome person all around and very easy to get along with, his work is outstanding! He has such a natural talent and gift that other photographers may spend their life trying to obtain. Right after we met with Matt my husband and I knew we had to have him for our engagement pictures and wedding. He was willing to travel for our engagement session and was totally on-board for whatever we had planned. When we were lacking ideas or locations he was quick to tell us what he thought or an idea he had, which was always awesome! We absolutely LOVE all of our pictures and have gotten so many compliements from friends and family about his work.
Our bridal party loved him at our wedding as well. He is so easy going, outgoing and relaxed and he made everyone in the bridal party extremely comfortable which is hard to do with a group of 24 people. We are looking forward to seeing our wedding photos because we know they will turn out equally as awesome as everything else he has done for us. We would use Matt again in a heartbeat! He is well worth every penny Brides and Grooms!”
