The Building

Nestled inside a charming brick building built in the 1920s, you would never guess the treasures the building has inside. From the moment you step through the double doors, you’ll know you’ve found something unlike anything you’ve ever experienced at a wedding venue. From the stunning grand ballroom and its elegant décor to the classically designed lounges, there are many intimate nooks and corners that are perfect for shooting your wedding pictures. In a space as unique as this, you want to make sure to take time to take in each moment and really commit it to memory.

The Staff

One of northern Indiana’s most unique event centers is conveniently located in LaPorte, Indiana. The Allure staff pride themselves on the providing the highest quality service to the bride, groom and wedding party. From photographing numerous weddings at this popular venue, I can personally say the staff is amazing–very helpful, super sweet and they give an amazing amount of care and attention to every bride.

The Allure has hosted more than 300 events since opening in 2009 and has helped couples host unforgettable weddings that leave everyone smiling. Prior to opening the venue, Troy Clark, owner of The Allure, spent four years demolishing, renovating and restoring what was formerly known as the “Old Eagles Building” into one of the most popular, captivating wedding venues in Northern Indiana.

Hosting your wedding at this venue will nearly guarantee that your guests have an enchanted experience. The venue invites you to be amazed, to be impressed, and to experience an ambiance you can’t find anywhere else. On top of it all, the venue offers affordable pricing.

The Location

LaPorte’s central location along with its downtown architecture led Clark to purchase the building. Only a short distance west of Notre Dame and east of Chicago, the building sits perfectly positioned to accommodate a wide range of clients with any and all of their wedding and event needs.

The Allure maintains professional relationships with numerous local businesses, restaurants and hotels. These vendors have expressed their appreciation to The Allure for bringing in out-of- town visitors to explore the gem that is LaPorte County. The couples who marry at The Allure, their friends and families return to visit LaPorte’s lakes and explore the area. The venue has been featured in area magazines such as Wedding Day, Wedding Essentials, and Chicago Style.

Photography Tips

One of the most prominent features of The Allure is of course, the venue itself. The Allure is loaded with unique photo opportunities, all with their own personality and charm. The vast majority of the shooting spaces are dimly lit, providing a very moody and romantic feel. While dark and moody spaces are pleasing to the eye, low light can be one of the biggest challenges many photographers face when working in these types of venues. In order to maintain this mood in your photographs and make the best use of the indoor space The Allure has to offer, make sure your photographer is well trained in the use of off-camera flash. This will give them the ability to work in any of the beautiful spaces The Allure has to offer without relying on the presence of natural (sun) light.
